BASIL WITH A TWIST

Okay, so here’s how it started!! Last week I had to get some work done at T.Nagar. Once I got done with my work, I was really starving. So I wanted something to satisfy my hunger although I definitely wanted to try something new.

   It was an unexpected visit to……. Guessss! Yup “basil with a twist”, a European themed restaurant. It is located at 58-A, Habibullah road, T Nagar, Chennai.

  The restaurant serves continental, café, Italian, European, Mediterranean, steak, pizza, and desserts. What more can you ask for? Infact I was quite impressed just looking at their menu. Their menu was 16 pages with super yummy appetizers and mains.

  The restaurant offers buffet facilities as well. The have free wifi and also valet parking.

  Moving onto the food because I know you wanna know how their food looks.

   Roasted Pumpkin Soup Garnished With Basil & Ginger Dressing,  Chicken Saltimbocca, Hunter's Steak, and the Mousse La Chocolate was my favourite. They tasted so delicious that I would'nt mind travelling all the way to T.Nagar just to eat their food. Definitely worth it!!

Talking about service, the staff were really friendly and clarified all the questions we had. The ambience of the restaurant was really beautiful, but personally I felt like the lights were a bit dim. Definitely something they should work on. Apart from that, the ambience is pretty good. Overall I would rate them 4.3/5. I was happy with the decision I made that day. It would definitely be my ''go to restaurant''. Can’t wait for my next visit!!!

    Actually I liked the idea of their dim lights because it gives a cozy feeling!! But I should head down to the place to see if I actually like it or not thanks the recommendation!!!!

Greek week

Baklava is an ancient Greek delicacy, valued for it's rich culture and references in history. It is a soft, flaky pastry with pistachio paste and caramel. This recipe serves 18. Ingredients  250g butter, melted 500g chopped walnuts 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 packet filo pastry 200g caster sugar 250ml water 8 tablespoons honey 1 large piece of lemon peel Directions Preheat oven to 180 C. Butter the bottom and sides of a 23x33cm baking dish. Toss nuts with cinnamon. Set aside. Unroll filo pastry. Cut whole stack at once to fit the dimensions of the baking dish. Cover filo with a damp cloth to keep from drying out as you work. Place two sheets of filo in dish, buttering the top layer. Repeat until you have 8 sheets layered. Sprinkle 2 to 3 tablespoons of nut mixture on top. Top with two sheets of filo, butter, nuts, layering as you go. The top layer should be about 6 to 8 sheets deep.
