Pure Luck!
I honestly found this place by pure luck!! So basically as part of a class trip, we went to the “ Weavers Service Centre” at Besant Nagar and after the trip, me and my friends were really hungry so walked around the place to find some good food!! And BAM that's when we found this gem of a place called “Chai Galli” located at 15/4, 4th Main Road,1st Floor, Elliot's Promenade, Besant Nagar, Chennai. At first, i didn't really want to go there for lunch because it was a pure vegetarian restaurant but I was craving for some meat (chicken). But nevertheless, we decided to eat there! And I immediately forgot about my cravings and instead fell in love with the interior of the place !! Take a look at the masterpiece yourself!!
They went super creative with their decorations! From the poster of old hindi movie hits to the their cycle chandelier and the kettle holders for cutleries!! Everything was really cute!! At that point of time i was just hoping the food would be as good the interior!! And with that hope we ordered 3 dishes : “The red tomato tango” - which was a pasta and honestly this was my favorite because the sauce was really good, it was creamy but did it not overwhelm me with the red sauce taste plus this was my first time having beans in my pasta which was not bad a combination!! Also they gave us 2 cheesy garlic breads which were out of the world!
“ Simple Margarita” - This was a thin crust pizza that tasted like heaven! I mean anything with cheese taste like heaven :)
“Tadke Waali Maggi” - This was my least favorite because it lasted too much like ordinary maggi but then again my fork kept reaching the bowl for more!! I feel like they can do more do bring out a different flavour of this dish! Other than that me and my friends had a satisfactory lunch!!!
Okay now i bet you want to check out how the food looks like right? No problem i wil help you with that!!
Doesn’t what we had look really appeatising? So if you are craving for some western cuisine with an Indian twist to it, i would suggest you to head down to this place!! Plus it's really affordable, it only cost about 300 rupees for 2 people!! So what are you waiting for??
