Would you like a cup of tea?

IHave you guys ever heard of the “ Lloyds Tea House?” It is located at 179, Lloyds Road, Gopalapuram, Chennai and is open from 11am to 11pm. Honestly, my dad brought to this place saying that I will fall in love with the exterior!! And man did I, their soft colored walls and their placement of cute props were really pretty!!

Just look at the pictures, don’t you already feel like going without even hearing the reviews about the food?? But then again you know what they say “ Don’t judge a book by its cover” so I was quite anxious hoping that the food will not fall short of my expectations. When I got my menu I just grew more anxious because it looked so pretty!! Take a look at it!

I mean they even had a Christmas special menu!! I took 5 mins to calm myself self and ordered my food hoping it would be good. Meanwhile soaking myself in the calm and relaxing ambiance.

By the way, i did not order any tea because I am not a fan of Tea so i did not bother exploring their extensive tea menu. Instead, we ordered Thai crispy prawn, Chicken in Black pepper sauce, Thai fried rice, Chocolate and Salted caramel cake. That crispy prawn is something you should not miss! The quantity was good, the curry tasted sweet and spicy, prawn had a crispy outer layer and soft juicy crust. I loved that dish! Chicken in Black pepper sauce is the perfect Continental preparation you can drool over. The chicken breast pieces were tender, the sauce was so creamy and mildly spicy, sauteed vegetables were fresh and the potato mash was smooth and well flavored. Thai fried rice came as a surprise to me. For a place that had English-y interiors and the smell of coffee floating in the air, I was surprised that they could pull off such a tasty Thai recipe! The quantity was too good, with enough chicken in both the curry and the rice. The chocolate with salted caramel cake was soft, not too sweet and the caramel tasted yum. Unfortunately, I was too excited that did not take pictures of the food and I am going to attach photos I found online :)

Now i think you can understand why I started eating my food right away even they look so aesthetic !!  The only problem for me is that it is a little bit pricey for a student like me since it cost about 1000 rupees on average for 2 people. But then again the food and the ambience was worth it so can’t wait to go back there again!!!
