Lets Get Grilling

I am pretty sure many of you guys are aware of the mall called “ Express Avenue.” I mean it is one of the best hangout places in Chennai. Well for me at least, it is the best hangout space and I pretty much end up there once every week. I usually go there to catch a movie or have a  lunch or dinner with my friends and family. And whenever I go out with my friends our biggest conflict would be where to eat but strangely enough when we are at express avenue, there is one place that all of us agree upon unanimously and it is called “ Chilli’s American Grill and Bar. “

Don’t even get me started on the ambience and the outlook of their restaurant. I think this is one of the main reasons I love going there. The moment you enter the restaurant it gives you the impression of being in one of their international outlets with the soft music and neat interiors. It's very much different from the regular western cuisine restaurant, which can be felt from their four-seater tables, tables with sofa to the long bar counter where the liquid concoctions are crafted. It has an overall rustic and cozy feel to it that is very welcoming.

Food wise they don't disappoint us as well, with their menu that has a wide array of options. I mean their menu itself is 18 pages. Also, there are mini descriptions of each dish below its name that makes the decision-making process much simpler. Below is an example of their menu and mind you this is only the first page!!

So I usually try to venture out and try new items every time I go there and the latest meal I had consisted of their boneless chicken wings, chicken pasta, and Mango Chile Margarita. The wings were just simply amazing and the tangy Buffalo sauce that was drizzled on it was just like the icing on the cake. I could not resist myself and ended my stealing my sisters portion to hehe. Their chicken pasta was not too bad but it was a little dry for me. As for the Mango Chile Margarita, it was very interesting to see how Mango and Jalapenos can go so well hand in hand in a drink but the barista’s here did a pretty decent job in obtaining the right balance. It was like a match made in heaven, that's how good it was.

Okay, enough of me describing my meals now it's time for the pictures of the food because you know what they say “ pictures speak more than a thousand words.”

Is this what people mean by when they say eye candy? I mean they look so appetizing that I can stare at them all day. Okay just kidding!!  Don’t worry I am not a weirdo it's just that their food tastes so good. Not only their food but their service is also amazing because the waiters who have taken my orders so far have been very patient and understanding especially when I go back and forth on what I want to eat, oops!!

So overall I would give them a 4 out of 5 for their food ,ambience and service. I am not giving them a 5 because of their price I feel it's a bit too pricey because it cost about 1700 rupees for 2 people on average.
