Ever heard of Australia’s most popular food related TV series? I’m pretty sure you have. Even if you’ve heard about it and have no idea what it is about, Here’s a nice opportunity. This is an article about a reality competitive cooking game show “Masterchef Australia”!!


Masterchef Australia is presented by main judges, Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan, and George Calombaris. The series is also presented along with some guest chefs like Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal, Matt Moran.

The best moment for the top 24 contestants is entering the masterchef kitchen. The contestants will then be whittled down through a number of individual and team cooking challenges and weekly elimination rounds until a winning masterchef is crowned. The winner plays for a prize that includes chef training from leading professional chefs, the chance to have their own cookbook published, and $250,000 in cash.

Masterchef Australia airs five nights a week, Monday to Friday on Starworld /Starworld HD. Every night features a different kind of a challenge.

MONDAY: Mystery box challenge and invention test
TUESDAY: Pressure test
WEDNESDAY: Immunity challenge
THURSDAY: Team Challenge
FRIDAY: Elimination Challenge


Currently Masterchef Australia S9 airs on Starworld HD at 9pm on weekdays. The show continues with the top 10 competitive contestants Karlie Verkerk, Sam Goodwin , Eliza Wilson, Ben Ungermann, Callan Smith, Sarah Tiong, Arum Nixon, Diana Chan, Tamara Graffen and Eloise Praino.

The very hungry frenchman

Raymond Blanc: the Very Hungry Frenchman (BBC Two) was a food programme with too many ingredients. Stirred together to form a near-indigestible stew, it combined elements of a traditional cookery series with those of a TV travelogue and a Who Do You Think You Are?-style documentary, as Blanc revisited the areas of France that inspired him to become a chef. Greek week

Baklava is an ancient Greek delicacy, valued for it's rich culture and references in history. It is a soft, flaky pastry with pistachio paste and caramel. This recipe serves 18. Ingredients  250g butter, melted 500g chopped walnuts 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 packet filo pastry 200g caster sugar 250ml water 8 tablespoons honey 1 large piece of lemon peel Directions Preheat oven to 180 C. Butter the bottom and sides of a 23x33cm baking dish. Toss nuts with cinnamon. Set aside. Unroll filo pastry. Cut whole stack at once to fit the dimensions of the baking dish. Cover filo with a damp cloth to keep from drying out as you work. Place two sheets of filo in dish, buttering the top layer. Repeat until you have 8 sheets layered.
